I would say that this week’s challenge was, by far, the most successful. We finally got around to finishing all those pesky, little projects that have had been unfinished and taking up space around the house. Now we can finally enjoy them!

If you’re new to the blog, then let me catch you up on the Countdown to Summer Challenge. Fellow blogger Emily (One Crafty Momma) and I have been doing weekly challenges to help us countdown the final days to summer. Along with our posts, we’ve invited you, the reader, along to participate and share your successes as well! Each Sunday comes with a recap of everything we’ve done and learned. The weeks have been flying by and now that we are in the final stretch. I can see the finish line to warm summer days and quiet summer nights with barbeques, visits to the lakes and long walks in the neighborhood.

Let’s see what progress we made on our “Finish It” challenge this week. As you may recall for my “Finish It” challenge, I finally got around to using the wooden crates I bought (over seven months ago) and turned them into book shelves for Ollie’s room.

Emily accomplished some pretty amazing projects this week with her DIY crocheted owl hat for her future nephew and she finally completed the paint job tableon her toy train table for her little man, Levi! I’m pretty sure if I showed Ollie the train table he’d be driving me to Michael’s himself to get the supplies! What a cute, fun idea for our little ones. I’m still not sure why projects like these end up taking us so long to finish, but what a sense of accomplishment when they’re done. Emily’s final project was creating some great new storage for her craft supplies.

I especially love how she painted the storage containers the colors she wanted when she couldn’t find them in the stores. She’s a crafty one for sure!

I would like to leave you with something I found on Holdin’ Holden this week. It has nothing to do with finishing a project, but literally had me laughing so hard I may have fallen off the couch. So, naturally I found the need to make you all laugh your asses off too! The post is a collection of stories from readers, like you and me, about embarrassing moments their children have caused. Until now, I don’t have any really embarrassing stories involving Ollie, but I’m pretty sure once this guy can talk, we are in for a whirlwind of embarrassing (and humorous) moments. If you have a free second and are looking for a good laugh, I recommend the read!

With today’s recap, Round 2 of our challenges comes to a close, so as promised, here is a look at what Round 3 will bring! Join us in these challenges and share your successes or failures that these challenges always bring.

I’m going to cheat a little and post my “Paint It” challenge tomorrow instead of Wednesday since I’ll be partaking in a separate Pinterest challenge on Wednesday. Come back tomorrow to see my finished project!
